Established in 1951 by James P. Rines, Jr. (1930-2005), the Sheepfood Gospel Broadcast and Ministry has been a nonprofit endeavor with an imperative on "...preaching the whole counsel of God regarding Jesus Christ his Eternal Son as He has been revealed through the Holy Spirit in the written Word of God, the Holy Bible..." through radio ministry and bible studies in the Statesville, North Carolina area.
SHEEPFOOD GOSPEL BROADCAST AND MINISTRY - JAMES P. RINES JR.
James Perley Rines, Jr. (1930-2005) was born in East Templeton, MA and was the son of the late James Perley Rines, Sr. and the late Dora Ernestine Burnap Rines. He was married June 6, 1951 to the late English Elaine York Rines where they resided in Statesville, N.C.
He grew up in the Leominster-Fitchburg, MA area and graduated from Leominster High School. He received a bachelors degree in liberal arts and theology from God's Bible School and Missionary Training Home, Cincinnati, Ohio, where he attended from 1947 to 1951; a bachelors degree in English and social studies from Lenoir-Rhyne College, Hickory, N.C. (1955); and a masters degree in educational administration from Appalachian State University, Boone, N.C. (1965).
Mr. Rines was a preacher of the Word of God from 1950 - 2005, ending on WAGI radio, Gaffney, S.C.
He was a teacher-principal in the N.C. public school system at Stony Point High School (1955-1957), Mt. Mourne Elementary School (1957-1966), Sherrills Ford Elementary School (1967-1976), Charles H. Tuttle Middle School (1976-1982), and Valleydale School (1984-1985).
CURRENT FOCUS
Jim Rines' prayer at the end of most radio broadcasts was routinely "...that the Lord would continue to enlarge the borders of the broadcast...".  Currently, we are endeavoring to transcribe the analog audio tapes of the James P. Rines, Jr. sermons to a digital format and also, develop transcription documents in readable format to enable distribution on the worldwide web. We endeavor to make progress on that mission as the Lord enables.
